Things I have learned from my mother

In honor of Mother’s day last week, I thought I would take a moment to remind myself of the lessons I have learned from my mother.

Don’t follow the fashion sheep

It’s okay to do your own thing and embrace your own style. You don’t have to go along with what everyone else is doing. People always just tend to follow the herd, rather than trusting their own creativity.

Jewelry is an investment

I don’t think this needs much elaboration, invest in quality pieces and they can be handed down, or even go up in value.

Keep it classy

Above all my mom taught me how to be a lady and not overdo it. You don’t need to show a bunch of skin, have the most dramatic makeup, or sexiest nails, there is beauty in simple elegance.

My mom was my biggest inspiration growing up,  the way she always looked so put together, how she would look so glamorous getting ready for date-night with my father, her effortlessly chic style was something I always strived for.

I had the pleasure of interviewing her this week for the podcast and she elaborated on some of her best style tips, and how she was successful in her career, and just gave some awesome mom advice. To listen to my full episode with her, check out the podcast.

until next week!

xoxo,

Katherine
